Homework - colour

In this lesson we were talking about colours and how colour schemes can affect different emotions. For homework I had to find different colour schemes in an animated film. I have chosen a film "Up" by Pixar studios. It's one of my favourite animated films.

In the first picture they used an analougs colour scheme, which consists of colours that are on the same side of the colour wheel. There are different shades of brown, orange and yellow, which are made by light from the airship. They make kind and friendly mood, what leads us to think he is a good, trustworthy person.

In the second picture is used a complementary colour scheme consisting of greyish blue tones with red light. Blue tones show disappointment and the red light evokes anger. The character is shown in completely different light, now we can see how he really is.

This picture uses a triadic colour scheme of orange, green and blue tones. It's quite calming (blue tones), happy, kinda playful and childish. The grey old house is a little bit in a contrast, but it doesn't look scary.

The last picture also uses the triadic colour scheme with similar, but darker colours. Dark grey and rainy blue tones evokes Carl's tiredness and disappointment but yellow and red tones on Russel show us his optimism and passion.
