Lesson 1 - Storyboard

In the first lesson we were given to create a storyboard for homework. It had to show emotions "nervousness", "confusion" and "anxiety" during my first week at the university. Because we could use only 6 frames, I tried to put all emotions together and I found making the story quite easy because I could relate to them.

Lesson 1 - Metamorphosis

This is the first animation I have ever done. We had to make pairs with classmates and morph the first letter of our name into the first letters of names of our classmates. I was working with my friend's drawing, which wasn't easy because first letters of our names both begin with a letter K. Fortunately they weren't exactly the same, so we could morph them into a different shape.

The biggest problem was working with a webcamera on a Mac, because the webcamera doesn't focus on the picture properly. It also goes up because we weren't using peg bars. Now I am making animations in my room with my DSLR.

Overall I am not disappointed with this animation, because it looks better than I expected for my first animation.

Lesson 1 - Portrait Speed Dating

Sketching potraits of my classmates.
I have drawn many portraits before, but I am used to drawing them from a photo and not that fast, so it was a new experience for me. I quite like the portrait of Sean, semi-looking, but overall I am not satisfied with my work. I need to get better within a very short time.

Lesson 1 - Phobia cut-out

In the first lesson we all picked pieces of paper with different phobias written on them and then we had to make a paper cut-out depicting the phobia we had picked. I've got Xylophobia, which is fear of forests and wooden objects.

My first attempt in the lesson hasn't turned out very well, because I didn't have enough time for it. I was having some problems with my timetable and I had to solve them with my personal academic tutor Omid, but besides it, I always need more time to finish my artworks than other people. My work was unfinished and I cut many lines wrong. I wasn't satisfied with the work and with the idea itself, plus it was accidentally damaged through my way to the halls. That's why I have decided to start it over again. I haven't tried to do the depth of the forest anymore and I have left out the wooden object. I have focused only on the forest and the fear of it. I quite like how it looks this time.
